The Science faculty teachers are a dynamic team of professionals, committed to achieving high quality outcomes in Science for all students. There is a focus on academic achievement, the integration of 21st Century learning outcomes and innovative technology to ensure high levels of student engagement.
Stage 4-5 Science is based on the curriculum which has been implemented from 2013 (http://syllabus.bostes.nsw.edu.au/science/science-k10/). Engaging teaching and learning built on this curriculum are provided to students through a differentiated program that accommodates for a broad range of students including those in the enrichment and selective classes.
Additionally, the Science faculty is now offering the Stage 5 elective iSTEM. The elective utilises hands-on inquiry based learning techniques. It is designed to encourage students to undertake STEM based subjects for the Higher School Certificate, improve results and increase students completing university courses in STEM fields. This is a new course offered by the Science faculty with the inaugural class to begin in 2017.
Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Senior Science are electives students can study in Stage 6.
The Science faculty aims to provide students with a variety of opportunities to engage with Science and universities. Some of the programs offered by the Science faculty include:

  • i-Science with the University of Sydney
  • Robotics programs including FLL
  • Various competitions including Bridge Building
